My First Gocco.
Well, I finally used the Print Gocco I bought from Japan last September (Louise had set me an ultimatum - either I used it or she was going to give it away to "another little boy"). My first attempt was not a complete success but it's growing on me. I think the photocopy I used to create the master was a bit too dark and actually fused to the screen in places. Ironically, when I'm doing stuff digitally I scan in scratches and in the past I've even tried to emulate the mis-registered look of a dodgy screen print. Now I'm getting these effects naturally I want it to look like it's been produced in Photoshop. Sheesh! I'm never happy. The next one will be better.

These are f**kin' lovely, Jonathan! I'd like to see a close-up of the ones you seem to have printed on coloured paper. I don't know anything about this Gocco business - is the ink wash-proof etc on t-shirts?
I'm pretty sure it's waterproof as they sell attachments for the basic machine so you can print on tee shirts. The print on the orange piece of felt (pictured) came out really nice. There's tons of stuff about them online. I'll send you a couple of prints in the post.
Hey, thanks, J! The rougher hand-printed textures are a really nice contrast with your crisp line work, lookin' forward to seeing more of these :)
Looks wonderful to me, I have to second Simon's comment about the contrast of line work and texture, it works a treat.
Can I just say that the print is utterly yummy Jon? I just did didn't I? Cheers fella!!
I've been browsing you're work now for all of 10 minutes and I think these prints are among you're strongest stuff. I do have a personal bias towards prints with their inherent "roughness". I'd like to see more of these.
