The Behemoth-On-Sea By Elections

Remember the drawing of a monster politician I posted the other day? (Of course you remember. It's less than a week ago! What do I think you are? Frickin' goldfish!) Well, Louise saw the sketch and decided to make one of them in full 3D glory. The attention to detail is verging on the obsessive compulsive - his trousers have got a fly, his jacket is fully lined with working pockets. She was about to make him a pair of y-fronts when I pointed out that it may have been a bridge too far. I love her an' that but this is slightly mental, innit? More details on Louise's new blog here.

Drawing on walls.

Last night I attended Doodleplanet at Telford's Warehouse in Chester. It's a monthly "draw on the walls" night organised by local artist David Setter and his DJ brother Matty (who, it has to be said, plays a blinding set). It was a pleasure to spend an evening in a good location, listening to great music (the theme from "Shaft in Africa" being a particular highpoint) and losing yourself in drawing for a few hours. Comment of the night - "I know she's only ink an' that but I still would". Now, that's a compliment.

Big new sketchbook.

I bought a brand new hardback A3 sketchbook last Saturday. I always had an A3 sketchbook in college and I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed drawing on a space bigger than A4. The only downside is that it's too big for my A4 scanner so here's some "photos" of a few pages.
