Trees VS Buildings

I drew this in my sketchbook last night (whilst watching Project Runway). Coloured it today. Louise thinks it reflects my state of mind.

Bye, Michael!

It's weird when an icon dies. Somehow you expect them to be there forever like Coca Cola. As my friend Woodrow said last night, "It's like Batman's died". Odd. I so wanted this jacket when I was 11.

Anyone wanting a fitting musical tribute to Michael could do far worse than J. Period's Man or the Music mixtape. LInk via the excellent Kevin Nottingham blog.

Assorted Sketches

Cleaning up my desk tonight I found loads of discarded sketches on various bits of paper. I've scanned the best ones in and arranged them on one page just for you. Yes, you!

Competition Time!

Here's some t-shirt designs I did last year for Sportax. They wanted some tees with a classic rock theme but in some way connected to the monster range I did for them. This is what I came up with. Sadly, it looks now like they'll never see the light of day (apart from on this blog!).

The first person to correctly name every album sleeve that these parody will win some badges, a comic and a couple of Gocco prints. Don't say I never give you anything!

Spotlight on Pop!

This is a page I've contributed to a forthcoming zine compiled by the inimitable Mr Alex Hornsby. The theme of the issue was "Avant-Rock" so my page is a fake pop star profile in the style of the now defunct British kid's comic/magazine Look-In.  Anyone interested at all in Look-In (and all the TV based comic strips within) should click HERE. Check out those incredible cover paintings by Arnoldo Putzu. They used to blow my tiny child's mind!

Update - The zine is called Radiator and it's MySpace page is here.
